Procedural Committee at the Legislature ended in loud bickering again as ruling party’s legislators and opposition alliance locked horns. With their legislative majority the opposition parties passed their version of “Truth Commission” revision statute, and successfully blocked president Chen’s State-of-the-Nation address.
With opposition alliance’s legislative majority, KMT’s version of “Truth Commission” statutes were approved in the Legislature as the KMT and PFP joined forces to push it through 3 readings. The ruling DPP failed to even include the investigation committee, led by Control Yuan President Fredrick Chien, on the agenda.

Decibel level of the meeting grew. President Chen’s state-of-the-nation address was another source for more bickering, with pan-blue legislators squabbling with their pan-green counterparts.

KMT’s Alex Tsai: “President Chen’s mouth is quicker than his brain. We can foresee what’s going to happen if he comes to the legislature.”
With their legislative minority the pan-green camp was hardly an equal match to the KMT and the PFP. New conflicts were about to erupt.

The motion was blocked off by pan-blue legislators for the time being. In the midst of the rows the KMT and PFP said their agenda is full in this legislative term. President’s state-of-the-nation address will have to wait after he agrees to a legislative questioning.
