Emperor Penguins premier at Yilan Green Film Fest

Video
In the cold and barren land of faraway Antarctica, it¡¦s currently the mating season for the Emperor Penguins. How do the Emperor Penguins overcome such difficulties of giving birth in the harsh conditions of the Antarctic? French director Luc Jacquect spent a year recording the lives of the Emperor Penguins, and has decided to have his film¡¦s Asian debut at Yilan¡¦s Green International Film Festival.

In the distant South Pole, among the very few animals that can survive under such cold conditions are the Emperor Penguins. Here, they are setting about increasing their numbers and bringing the next generation into the world.

This is the work of French director Luc Jacquet, who spent over a year venturing into the cold Antarctic, capturing the essence of the lives of the Emperor Penguins, and the courage that keeps them going.

The film was directed as a documentary film, in which the family of penguins was given voices --making the film all the more touching. In France, the film has already won the hearts of over a million children. Now, Jacquet has chosen the Yilan Green International Film Festival as the venue for the Asian premier of his film.

¡§I¡¦m extremely happy to be here to watch this with everyone, to have films about animals to premiere here in Yilan is something joyous and I just love everyone.¡¨

The film, ¡¥The Emperor¡¦s Journey¡¦, will be playing in the theaters of Taiwan during the month of May. So, for animal lovers, this is one movie you definitely won¡¦t want to miss.
